A Thankful Woman's Book of Blessings

My dear blogging friend, Judy, over at A Thankful Woman's Book of Blessings, hosts this meme every Wednesday. Simply list five things (or a prayer or any thoughts) for which you are truly thankful this week. Voicing my thanks helps put my life in perspective & realize that, no matter how bad things might be, there is still MUCH good surrounding me.

1) I'm thankful that all three of the older munchkins can now tie their shoes. I'm ashamed to admit it, but I've never been able to teach them...not for lack of trying. HandyGramps was watching them the other day & when he arrived, he had a small block of wood w/ a shoestring stapled to it. By the time I got home from my doctor's appointment, they could all tie a bow!

2) I'm thankful for The Princess, who just turned seven yesterday. She's been such a blessing to our lives. You can see my "Tuesday's Ten" from yesterday for more about this wonderful little lady!

3) I'm thankful for being able to celebrate my 40th birthday w/ my family! Casinodad took me out for a Japanese meal (a great experience for the munchkins, seeing the food cooked right at our table).

4) I'm thankful for
prayers that span across the miles...both those I've requested & those that have been requested of me!

5) I'm thankful for creative-thinking munchkins! We have a beautiful female cardinal who is constantly flying into our windows, even when I've put window clings on them. (Someone once told me that they see their reflections & think it's another bird there, so window clings would block it.) Well, The Prophet took The Saint's Super Mario action figure & put it in the downstairs window & she hasn't flown into it since.

Smart kid you've got there!
HandyGramps and I think alike.
We used to give the kids a shoebox with holes punched in and a shoelace threaded through so that they could learn to tie. My eldest kids used to have a dear little story book about a boy named Stephen who went to school without being able to tie his own shoes and his teacher makes a shoebox for him to learn! LOL
I'm with you on #4!!!
Glad you all have been enjoying the birthday celebrations in your house!
