Light in the Darkness

Welcome to my Light in the Darkness meme! (If you missed my post on the inspiration for this meme, you can read all about it HERE.)

This is the place to share good things that are happening in our world...whether it's a link to a news article/video, something from your personal experience...anything good that can bring light into darkness!
***************
Well, it doesn't get any lighter than this...I loved the the second reading for Sunday (the 4th Sunday of Lent).

Ephesians 5:8-14
Brothers and sisters:
You were once darkness,
but now you are light in the Lord.
Live as children of light,
for light produces every kind of goodness
and righteousness and truth.
Try to learn what is pleasing to the Lord.
Take no part in the fruitless works of darkness;
rather expose them, for it is shameful even to mention
the things done by them in secret;
but everything exposed by the light becomes visible,
for everything that becomes visible is light.
Therefore, it says:
“Awake, O sleeper,and arise from the dead,
and Christ will give you light.”

Deo Gratias

 "If the only prayer you ever say in your life is thank you, it will be enough." - Meister Eckhart

Colleen, from her inspiring blog Thoughts on Grace, hosts this wonderful meme each Wednesday. She says, "Deo Gratias is Latin for Thanks be to God. Remembering to give thanks for all of our blessings, big & small, helps us to find God in our everyday moments and gives us an attitude of gratitude!"

Each week, I join Colleen in remembering & sharing the many blessings in my life. This is such a great exercise for me, helping me to focus on the good that truly is happening in my life, no matter how many trials & stresses I may have.
**********
1) On Sunday evening, we had a sweet encounter w/ an elderly lady. You can read all about it in this post from yesterday. Deo Gratias!

2) I held off wanting a Kindle for a LONG time since I prefer to hold an actual book. However, I'm definitely enjoying the one Matt bought me for my birthday. I've found many wonderful out-of-print Catholic books from the 1800s-early 1900s that have been great for faith-building this Lent. Deo Gratias!

3) Our bedroom, which I rearranged & cleaned over a week ago is still clean & orderly! This is no small feat for us! Deo Gratias!

4) I've noticed that our family is getting along much better recently. As I mentioned to the Blessings yesterday, I truly believe it comes from starting our day in prayer. They've noticed, as have I, that those days we rush into are the ones that don't go as smoothly. Deo Gratias!

5) In the past week or so, I picked up a few extra hours at work while another receptionist was on vacation. It's great for our family's finances. I also enjoyed getting to see some co-workers & visitors I don't see as often when working only on Saturdays. Deo Gratias!
