The Simple Woman's Daybook

Peggy hosts this each meme each week & you can read other Daybook's HERE.

FOR TODAY
Outside my window...a beautiful spring afternoon!

I am thinking...and praying for my Godmother & her husband. He passed away this weekend after a long battle w/ ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). Also, my dad who is being admitted to the hospital this afternoon. He has atrial fibrillation (irregular heartbeat) that is normally controlled by medication, but has been acting up the past day or so. They're keeping him for observation to make sure the med. change will work.

I am thankful...that my Godmother's husband is no longer suffering.

From the learning rooms...winding down our school year. Today we did school outside.

From the kitchen...I'm thinking it will be something w/ ground beef, since I have a pound thawing in the fridge.

I am wearing...denim capri's, a navy blue cotton top, & dirt under my nails from gardening!

I am creating...a flower garden. I WILL HAVE A NICE ONE this year! Casinodad bought me a flat of 48 annuals & 3 boxwoods for Mothers' Day, while my parents got me 6 geraniums. I planted some of the flowers this morning. Now if I can keep the neighborhood kids out of my flower beds & keep The Saint from whacking my Alliums w/ a bat...

I am going...into work this evening to have my yearly Mantoux (TB) test checked.

I am reading...Coast Road by Barbara Delinsky, Beyond the Birds and the Bees by Gregory Popcak, & The Imitation of Christ.

I am hoping...for back relief. The facet joint injection I had done last week didn't give me as much relief as I would like. I go back on the 23rd for another round.

I am hearing...our local Christian station playing some great music, The Saint singing to himself, & the other munchkins playing in water outside.

Around the house...not too bad, but could be better. We've been keeping up w/ the dishes & straightening the living room.

One of my favorite things...having the windows open on a beautiful Spring day.

A few plans for the rest of the week...lots of appointments - speech therapy for The Archangel, eye appts. for The Prophet & The Princess, & orthodontist for The Prophet

Here is picture for thought I am sharing...the munchkins under a recent rainbow.
