Yesterday was a very special day for our family...The Archangel was able to receive his First Holy Communion. He was so excited to receive Jesus for the first time & I was very proud of his reverence as he approached the altar. Our deacon asked if HandyGramps would be willing to be one of the cup distributors, so The Archangel received the Precious Blood from his grandpa. HandyGramps looked almost tearful when distributing to The Archangel. I did fine until I looked at my dad...I skipped over the "almost" & actually did have tears in my eyes.
Not only was HandyGramps there to take part in the Mass, but The Prophet was one of the altar servers, too.

The Archangel's First Communion
I just LOVE this picture taken prior to the Mass. Doesn't he look happy & excited, not to mention quite handsome?!
When I made my First Communion, my parents gave me my own adult Bible. We decided to carry on the tradition w/ our munchkins. Last week, I took The Archangel to our local Catholic bookstore & let him pick his out. He chose a nice, simple black one that has a zipper cover to it. We had HandyGramps bless it for him yesterday.
On the lighter side...Casinodad had to take the cake back to the bakery on Saturday. When we got home, he noticed that a word was misspelled & that The Archangel would be making his First HOLLY Communion, not Holy! Thankfully they were able to fix it & gave us a gift card to make up for their mistake.
