A Thankful Woman's Book of Blessings

My dear blogging friend, Judy, over at A Thankful Woman's Book of Blessings, hosts this meme every Wednesday. Simply list five things (or a prayer or any thoughts) for which you are truly thankful this week. Voicing my thanks helps put my life in perspective & realize that, no matter how bad things might be, there is still MUCH good surrounding me.

1) I'm thankful for how receptive the munchkins have been w/ our addition of a Rosary decade each night. We first started at 7:30pm, but found that The Archangel got too tired. So, we moved it to right after dinner. We clear off the table while one of the munchkins gets the Rosary basket out. In addition to praying the Rosary, we pray for two seminarians in our diocese & a spiritual baby in danger of abortion.

2) I'm thankful I received Judy's wonderful book, I Surrender, in the mail last week & look forward to reading it w/ her FB reading discussion group. This could not have come at a better time for me!

3) I'm thankful for HelpfulGrammy! Yesterday, while doing my morning readings, I had a dizzy spell where my head & the room seemed to be spinning. What I thought might be an inner ear infection that caused the dizziness, was actually high blood pressure. (I've been keeping an eye on it for a while & I think the dizziness was God's way of getting my attention.) Now I get to start on a low dose of BP meds. I'm thankful she was available to help me out w/ the munchkins & drive me to the polls for voting & to the doctor.

4) I'm thankful for our family doctor & his staff. I've been going to him since I got out of college. Over the years, I've brought more patients to him...Casinodad, my parents, & all the munchkins. It's great that my parents go to him because it helps in knowing my family medical history better. We are VERY happy w/ him & it's wonderful to have someone we trust w/ our medical needs.

5) I'm thankful The Saint did not break his arm on Sunday when playing outside. It turned out to be "nursemaid's elbow" where the ligaments & bone at the elbow get out of sync. A few twists, turns, & bends by the doctor, wait a few minutes, & he was good as new, as if nothing had happened.

The rosary is such a great prayer. I do virtualrosary.org, which keeps me connected with a wide range of prayer-ers. I like the idea of praying for a baby, whom you don't know, who may be in danger of getting aborted.

On another note, I've sent encouraging messages to women on Yahoo! Answers who're scared and considering this action. Fear makes us do the worst things.

munchesmom, I hope you are feeling better! I too have high blood pressure and will feel dizzy as well when it is too high.
I am glad the Saint is OK! And that is wonderful that you are praying the rosary with the munchkins!

I'm so happy that you are part of our Book Club group on FB! Thanks for getting the book, too! I pray for those reading it each and every day; that the Lord will use it to tend to their souls in the way they need Him most:)
SO glad your son's ok...and that YOU are ok! I know the blessing of good doctors you trust...I have been with my OB/GYN and our Pediatrician for 24 years!!! We moved an hour away from their offices and I STILL go there! They are like part of our family!
We used to the say the rosary after dinner too...and now we pray at 7:30...so I thought that was funny...we switched times with you! Perhaps the Lord needed one of those hours covered so he split us up, ha ha! Thanks for sharing your blessings!
