A Thankful Woman's Book of Blessings

My dear blogging friend, Judy, over at A Thankful Woman's Book of Blessings, hosts this meme every Wednesday. Simply list five things (or a prayer or any thoughts) for which you are truly thankful this week. Voicing my thanks helps put my life in perspective & realize that, no matter how bad things might be, there is still MUCH good surrounding me.

***Before I start w/ my list of thanksgiving, I'd like to ask for some prayers if you don't mind. My doctor's office called last week w/ the results of my 24 heart monitor test. There are definitely some irregular heartbeats, so next Monday, I will be going for a stress test & an EKG. I'm sure it's mostly genetics, as there are heart issues on both sides of my family. I just thought I'd have another 10 years or so to go through all this! Needless to say, I am a bit nervous about what the results will be. (Plus, I'm not to have any caffeine, including chocolate, for 24 hours prior to the test. How do I make it through Easter Sunday w/out my beloved Reeses Peanut Butter Eggs or my Cadbury Eggs?)***

So, on w/ my thanks this week...

1) I'm thankful for the jury duty experience last week...all I learned & the many new people I met
. We never meet again, but for those five days, we got to know a lot about each other in the jury room.

2) But...I'm thankful to be home again & not gone All. Day. Long.

3) I'm thankful I remembered (I hadn't gotten our Easter decorations out yet) our Stations of the Cross box that I put together a few years ago. It holds items for each station so that the munchkins can get a hands-on experience praying the Stations as a family.

4) I'm thankful for dear friends who have sort of adopted our family. J. & T. are an older couple who are not close to their own daughters (not by their choice). Just the other day, he stopped by w/ a couple bags of goodies for us...Easter decorations, picnic supplies, craft items, & more.

5)
I'm thankful for Goodwill stores. I went yesterday, hunting for Easter clothes the boys. (Can you believe I had to move to the men's clothes for The Prophet? He's only 11, but he's grown so much!) I also found myself a new-to-me coffee maker! The best part...it was only $1.99, so if I break the carafe on this one, I won't feel guilty for wasting money!

I understand all too well the busy-ness of Holy Week in a parish office. HandyGramps is a deacon & we have learned to not bother him this time of year.
