A Thankful Woman's Book of Blessings

My dear blogging friend, Judy, over at A Thankful Woman's Book of Blessings, hosts this meme every Wednesday. Simply list five things (or a prayer or any thoughts) for which you are truly thankful this week. Voicing my thanks helps put my life in perspective & realize that, no matter how bad things might be, there is still MUCH good surrounding me.

1) I'm thankful Casinodad's mom was able to watch the munchkins for us for a few hours on Sunday. He & I were able to do a little belated birthday shopping for each other & boy, did we find some great deals!

2) I'm thankful for our local Goodwill store. For $22, we purchased 7 shirts for Casinodad, a skirt & top for me, 2 pairs of pants for The Archangel, a skirt for The Princess, & sandals for The Saint. Unfortunately I couldn't find anything for The Prophet, but hopefully next trip there.

3) I'm thankful for a great dinner w/ my girlfriends. We are going away for a weekend in a few weeks & we met at Cracker Barrel Friday evening to make some final plans. This was a great prelude for our getaway & already the laughs have begun! (FYI - Cracker Barrel's haddock meal was delicious!)

4) I'm thankful for our local library. I know I've said this before, but it definitely bears repeating. It is so wonderful to be able to borrow books instead of purchasing them, reserve them online so they can be ready for me, & renew them online (& pay fees online if needed!) when the weather is just not worth going out into. The main branch has a great kids' section where they can read, color, use computers, or just use their imaginations in the play area.

5) I'm thankful The Archangel is putting on some weight! I know this is not a big deal for many people, but he has always been on the lower end of the charts (below at some points). I think a lot of it has to do w/ his hyperactivity & always being on the move...burning off every calorie he consumes. I was so thrilled when I looked at him yesterday w/out his shirt. Where we once saw every bone of his ribcage, we could actually see a filled out, healthy-looking chest & tummy. I believe this is due to an increased appetite caused by his medicine.
