Light in the Darkness

Welcome to my Light in the Darkness meme! (If you missed my post on the inspiration for this meme, you can read all about it HERE.)

This is the place to share good things that are happening in our world...whether it's a link to a news article/video, something from your personal experience...anything good that can bring light into darkness!
On Saturday, I attended our annual diocesan women's conference. The day started w/ Mass, celebrated by our bishop. I was sitting on the end in the second row of the bleacher section, so when it came time for Communion, we had to descend the steps to the floor level to receive the Body of Christ. The last step was a big one & many women, esp. the older ones, were caught by surprise. Occasionally, I would feel a woman's hand on my shoulder to steady herself.

What touched me was the woman sitting in front of me. She kept an eye out for those who might have a little trouble & offered her shoulder or arm to assist them. It may seem like a small gesture of kindness to some, but I'm sure it meant a lot to those women!

And that's what this weekly link-up is all about. Acts of kindness do not need to be big w/ lots of fanfare. The little ones matter just as much as the big ones!
