Colleen, from her inspiring blog Thoughts on Grace, hosts this wonderful meme each Wednesday. She says, "Deo Gratias is Latin for Thanks be to God. Remembering to give thanks for all of our blessings, big & small, helps us to find God in our everyday moments and gives us an attitude of gratitude!"
Each week, I join Colleen in remembering & sharing the many blessings in my life. This is such a great exercise for me, helping me to focus on the good that truly is happening in my life, no matter how many trials & stresses I may have.
2) HelpfulGrammy & HandyGramps keep the Blessings at their house for most of that week, giving me time to recuperate & rest. HelpfulGrammy also prepared a couple meals for us. Deo Gratias!
3) Matt took excellent care of me that week...preparing my meals, making sure I was as comfortable as possible, & just keeping me company. Deo Gratias!
4) The week after my surgery, all six of us came down w/ the flu. It was not a fun week, but I am thankful I didn't get it the week of my surgery. I can't imagine how painful coughing would have been w/ the incisions still fresh. Deo Gratias!
5) Overall, my parents were incredible during the past two weeks...making meals, picking up soup & medications since we couldn't get out, taking the boys to band, & so much more! Deo Gratias!

Yes, while the flu is no fun, it's a good thing that it didn't strike after the surgery.
And you certainly have a lot of people in your life to be thankful for. God bless them for all the assistance they provided you during this time. Deo Gratias!
