"If the only prayer you ever say in your life is thank you, it will be enough." - Meister Eckhart

Colleen, from her inspiring blog Thoughts on Grace, hosts this wonderful meme each Wednesday. She says, "Deo Gratias is Latin for Thanks be to God. Remembering to give thanks for all of our blessings, big & small, helps us to find God in our everyday moments and gives us an attitude of gratitude!"

Each week, I join Colleen in remembering & sharing the many blessings in my life. This is such a great exercise for me, helping me to focus on the good that truly is happening in my life, no matter how many trials & stresses I may have.

1) Sunday, we celebrated the end of our choir season w/ a choir cookout! We've had a great year & are looking forward to resuming in the fall. Deo Gratias!

2) This past weekend our pastor celebrated his final Masses as our pastor. He is retiring after over 40 years as a priest. We wish him well, but will miss him greatly. Deo Gratias!

3) Last night, our church's RCIA team, new church members, & their families had a wrap-up evening at a local bowling alley/arcade/food joint. It was a fun evening for all. Deo Gratias!

4) Since The Prophet's Confirmation party, we've been trying to keep our house in good shape. It's not been perfect, but has managed to stay fairly well de-cluttered & clean! Deo Gratias!

5) Thanks to our library's summer reading program, the Blessings have been doing a lot of reading so far. The Princess has already filled her sheet & earned her free book. Deo Gratias!

1) This wonderful young man, our son, The Prophet, was confirmed on Saturday! Deo Gratias!

2) On Sunday, we had an open house to celebrate. Many friends & family came to help us share this blessed occasion. Deo Gratias!

3) During the Confirmation Mass, both The Archangel & The Princess served. He carried our bishop's staff & she held his miter. I teared up when I saw them processing to the altar! And yes, I also teared up when The Prophet was confirmed! Deo Gratias!

4) The people in this photo are the dearest ones in my life. I am so blessed to be Matt's wife & the mother to these four amazing Blessings! Deo Gratias!

5) Not Confirmation related, but still a wonderful blessing...Matt applied for a scholarship in March based on service to the community. He received a letter the other day stating that he got it! Deo Gratias!

Light in the Darkness

"All the darkness in the world cannot extinguish the light of a single candle." ~ St. Francis of Assisi

Let us be that single candle, spreading light into a dark world!

Welcome to my Light in the Darkness meme! (If you missed my post on the inspiration for this meme, you can read all about it HERE.)

This is the place to share good things that are happening in our world...whether it's a link to a news article/video, something from your personal experience...anything good that can bring light into darkness!
***************
Today's "Light in the Darkness" celebrates this wonderful young man...our son, The Prophet! On Saturday evening, he was confirmed. He chose St. John XXIII as his patron saint. One of the wonderful things about his choice is that they share a birthday!

Congratulations, Son! We are so proud of you & look forward to what the Holy Spirit has in store for you!
