"If the only prayer you ever say in your life is thank you, it will be enough." - Meister Eckhart

Colleen, from her inspiring blog Thoughts on Grace, hosts this wonderful meme each Wednesday. She says, "Deo Gratias is Latin for Thanks be to God. Remembering to give thanks for all of our blessings, big & small, helps us to find God in our everyday moments and gives us an attitude of gratitude!"

Each week, I join Colleen in remembering & sharing the many blessings in my life. This is such a great exercise for me, helping me to focus on the good that truly is happening in my life, no matter how many trials & stresses I may have.
**********
1) Last Friday, we got the whole family up for daily Mass at 8am, followed by confession w/ our new pastor. The timing was perfect & he had just the right counseling words for each of us! Deo Gratias!

2) Afterwards, we surprised the kids w/ a trip to Hocking Hills. Deo Gratias!

3) Our church choir has been working on Advent music & there are some beautiful pieces we're planning. Deo Gratias!

4) The Saint is starting to take off w/ his reading skills. We were worried for a while, but know that it's all in good timing. He's finally enjoying it as well.

5) I found some really pretty fall artificial flowers & scarecrows on sticks at a thrift store. They were perfect for decorating our front window boxes.

Light in the Darkness

"All the darkness in the world cannot extinguish the light of a single candle." ~ St. Francis of Assisi

Let us be that single candle, spreading light into a dark world!

Welcome to my Light in the Darkness meme! (If you missed my post on the inspiration for this meme, you can read all about it HERE.)

This is the place to share good things that are happening in our world...whether it's a link to a news article/video, something from your personal experience...anything good that can bring light into darkness!
***************
A little late in the day for my post, but there's always time for "Light in the Darkness"!

I just saw the link to this story about a mother who gave birth, then went into a coma.

1) There is a tremendous amount of joy that I find in my children. Each one has a different personality & is at a different stage of their growing years. The joy I receive from them is a wonderful blessing.

2) The Saint had a cavity filled the other day. Matt & I were worried about how he would handle it, but found he did great! I was very proud of him.

3) We got out our fall decorations the other day. It really brightens up our home when we get it straightened up & decorated.

4) This Friday is our annual All Saints' Day party (yes, I know it's a bit early this year). Our saint costumes are coming together, much easier than I thought they would. Photos will come later!

5) Our church choir has started rehearsing some of our Advent pieces. We will be singing the Communion Antiphons, something I've never done before. They are BEAUTIFUL!
