Light in the Darkness

"All the darkness in the world cannot extinguish the light of a single candle." ~ St. Francis of Assisi

Let us be that single candle, spreading light into a dark world!

Welcome to my Light in the Darkness meme! (If you missed my post on the inspiration for this meme, you can read all about it HERE.)

This is the place to share good things that are happening in our world...whether it's a link to a news article/video, something from your personal experience...anything good that can bring light into darkness!

On Christmas Eve, before I left for our 5pm Mass, I checked into Facebook & saw that Courtney Lenaburg had slipped into a coma. In addition to the many prayers our family has been offering for her, I decided that the flute duet I was playing before both the 5pm & 10pm Masses (O Come Little Children) would be dedicated to her.

The Princess went to both Masses w/ me because she was joining me on another flute duet, as well as playing w/ the choir on another piece. On the way home from the 10pm Mass, she told me what she envisioned when I was playing. The following is the wonderful image she pictured in her own words:

Courtney is in a big field of flowers, sitting on her wheelchair in a beautiful sun dress. Then she stands up, walks over to the flowers and starts picking them. When suddenly the sun gets brighter than ever and when Courtney looks up, she sees Jesus. A nice gold ribbon appears around the flowers as she starts walking towards Jesus. When she gets to Him, she hands Him the bouquet with a smile and embraces Him with a big hug and many 'Thank yous'.

Dear Courtney passed away peacefully in the wee hours of the morning on December 27. While I know her family greatly misses her presence in their home & their lives, they rejoice in knowing that their sweet girl is now at peace...no more seizures, no more suffering, & no more pain. God bless the Lenaburg family & comfort them in their time of mourning.
