Light in the Darkness

Welcome to my Light in the Darkness meme! (If you missed my post on the inspiration for this meme, you can read all about it HERE.)

This is the place to share good things that are happening in our world...whether it's a link to a news article/video, something from your personal experience...anything good that can bring light into darkness!
********************
Never doubt a mother's instinct! This story I'm sharing today is truly a miraculous one...a mother in Australia was told that one of her twins, born prematurely at 27 weeks, was dead. She took him to her chest, skin to skin (Kangaroo Care), & just held him for what she thought would be the first & last time. Miraculously, he lived.

UPDATE: I just read today's Mass readings & reflection in The Word Among Us. WOW! Talk about God-incidences! The reflection started w/ a quote from today's Gospel: "Lay your hand on her, and she will live." (Matthew 9:16)

It goes on to say:
"Psychologists tell us that the simple act of physical touch plays an important role in our development. It seems that from the time we are infants, we need this basic form of human contact--to be touched, held, and cradled." The Word Among Us reflection for July 8, 2013
(NOTE: This reflection may only be available w/ the above link for today, but I believe once you're on their site, you can get past reflections.)

This link will take you to Jamie's story. There is also a six minute video at the end of the parents' interview, including video taken by the midwife during those two hours she held him.
