Small Successes

SMALL SUCCESSES IS MOVING
Here's the message from Sherry's Chocolate for Your Brain blog. (But please don't forget about Sherry...she's an AWESOME writer w/ an incredible sense of humor & always has something great to read on her blog!)

Last week I talked to a friend Sarah Reinhart (Author of Catholic Family Fun) about how to grow this internet meme of Small Success Thursday and she suggested moving it to Catholicmom.com. Here's the link.

The process and the rules are the same and I'll still be hosting it. It's just Lisa Hendey's site gets much more traffic and I do believe that moms, wives, women in general, need this little once a week lift to remind themselves of both the long term goals and short term progress. Lisa has graciously even offered to have prizes. Coolness and you get to brag a bit about what you've been up to this past week.

See you there!

Recognizing the small things we accomplish each week helps us realize that even when it doesn't seem like it, we are getting things done!

1) On Monday, I asked The Princess to take a few paper towels to sop up some juice that spilled on the kitchen floor & then I'd be over w/ the bleach spray. When I got there, all she had done was toss the paper towels over the spill & proceeded to join her brothers outside. I began to get upset w/ her, then I remembered this post of Judy's, which I'd read that morning. I stopped mid-chastizing to apologize to her & tell her that it was my fault. I'd never taught her what it means to sop something up.

2) Prompted by the Holy Spirit, I've come up w/ another possible source of income for our family. I'm not ready to divulge any details because it's a brand new idea & I'm not 100% sure it will work. Now...time for much prayer & discernment!

3) With the munchkins help, I did some weeding & yard work the other day. We still have a LONG way to go for our yard to look that way I've got it pictured in my mind. Here's hoping that this is the year!

Ooooohhh - I'm curious about #2! Keep us posted! I spent a great deal of time inthe yard yesterday. I don't think we'll ever have this yard where I want it to be (we rent so we are never willing to put much $$ into the process). Keep on trekkin!
