The Simple Woman's Daybook

Peggy hosts this meme each week. Read other Daybooks HERE.

FOR TODAY
Outside my window...rain, rain, & more rain (Hmmm...sounds similar to last week!)

I am thinking...of how good it felt to make one of the residents at the nursing home laugh the other day. Her husband passed away in October & the holidays are tough for her right now. So, seeing her laugh gave me a good feeling!

I am thankful...for the GREAT deals we found at Kroger yesterday. They had a whole section of toys that were 75% off. I think the munchkins will be very happy this Christmas!

From the learning rooms...I'm planning some one-on-one sessions this week w/ the munchkins to assess what we've done, where we are, & where we need to go.

From the kitchen...taco pie for dinner this evening; I also have some ripe bananas begging to be made into bread today...I'll think I'll be able to get two loaves (one to eat & one to freeze)

I am wearing...fleece PJs - black top; green, purple, & black striped banks; purple fuzzy socks

I am creating...peace & less chaos throughout the next month (at least I'm trying to!)

I am going...to get some more Christmas decorations out this week. We only have the tree up & our Jesse Tree.

I am reading...Voyage of the Dawn Treader by C.S. Lewis (read aloud for the munchkins & one of my favorites from the series), My Dearest Cecilia by Diane Haeger (based on the legend that General Sherman's love for this woman is why he spared her hometown of Augusta), & I Surrender by my dear friend Judy Dudich.

I am hoping...to get some of our Christmas gifts wrapped this week so that I'm not busily wrapping at the last minute

I am hearing...a Scooby Doo DVD playing for the boys w/ the occasional laughter & commentary from The Saint

Around the house...trying to keep it simple w/ the decorations this year; our Tree of Thanks has become our Jesse Tree

One of my favorite things...sitting in the living room early in the morning w/ my cup of coffee, readings, & the Christmas tree lit...very peaceful & a wonderful way to start my day

A few plans for the rest of the week...school, "Mom Therapy," doctor appt. to follow up on my blood pressure, family Christmas choir practice, picking up about 8 hours at work, Holy Day Mass, Small Church Community...a busy week!

Here is a picture or two I am sharing...During a recent "Mom Therapy" session here at our house, my dear friend's daughter sewed this dress for The Princess' American Girl. She did a great job!
