The Simple Woman's Daybook

Peggy hosts this meme each week. Read other Daybooks HERE.

FOR TODAY
Outside my window...dawn is breaking & it looks to be a really nice day - 64 degrees & partly cloudy

I am thinking...of how God always has the last say in your plans! I had several things I wanted to do yesterday, but instead ended up w/ a trip to urgent care for The Saint & helping out a stranded neighbor & her girls later in the day.

I am thankful...that The Saint did not break his arm yesterday. It was "nursemaid's elbow" & after a few bends & twists by the doctor, he's good as new!

From the learning rooms...helping The Princess learn to read while The Prophet & The Archangel study the United States; verbs w/ the boys & nouns w/ The Princess

From the kitchen...not sure yet; I need to make up a menu for the week (perhaps I can get The Prophet to help out)

I am wearing...my red plaid flannel nightgown

I am creating...a menu plan for Thanksgiving, as we are having it here this year

I am going...to have a good day! (How's that for positive thinking?)

I am reading...Voyage of the Dawn Treader by C.S. Lewis (read aloud for the munchkins & one of my favorites from the series), Homeschooling with Gentleness by Suzie Andres, Homegrown Faith by Heidi Bratton (my newest review book for The Catholic Company), & getting ready to start I Surrender by my dear friend Judy Dudich.

I am hoping...for an end to abortion & greater respect for life at ALL stages (conception to natural death)

I am hearing...the older boys perusing a toy catalog that I didn't get to throw out before they saw it, The Saint playing w/ a Lego Hero, & Casinodad crunching his cereal!

Around the house...we are enjoying our fall decorations

One of my favorite things...being available & able to help out friends & neighbors when they ask

A few plans for the rest of the week...school, "Mom Therapy" & a belated All Saints' Day party (we've had to cancel the past couple times due to illnesses), cleaning/organizing, spending time w/ family

Here is a picture or two I am sharing...The Saint exercising w/ Daddy!
