"Tuesday's Ten" - 10 Good Chapter / Young Adult Books

10 Good Chapter / Young Adult Books I've Read & Liked

1) Bridge to Terebithia by Katherine Patterson - I first read this in 5th grade, bought my own copy & have read it several times over the years.

2) The Phantom Tollbooth by Norton Juster - I read this in middle school & then again a few years ago. I liked it much better as an adult because I was able to catch (& enjoy) a lot of the "tongue-in-cheek" phrases.

3) The BFG by Roald Dahl - Hilarious! This was a read aloud to the munchkins a few years ago & all of us loved it. They really enjoyed to different voices I used for the giants.

4) Little Klein by Anne Ylvisaker - Thanks to my dear friend, Judy of Benmakesten, this was another read aloud that the munchkins enjoyed. She had mentioned it on either one of her blogs or Facebook last year & I found it at our library.

5) Rascal by Sterling North - I'm not big on animal stories, but this was another read aloud enjoyed by the munchkins.

6) Alex O'Donnell and the Forty Cyber Thieves by Regina Doman - A great modern re-telling of Ali Babba & the Forty Thieves. Regina Doman has a series of modern re-tellings of fairy tales. This is the only one I've read...so far.

7) Double Take by Melody Carlson - An Amish girl & a big city girl, unhappy w/ their current states in life & who look alike, meet by chance & decide to trade places for a while to experience how the other lives.

8) The Best Christmas Pageant Ever by Barbara Robinson - How the Herdman's learn about Jesus...hilarious & touching!

9) The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupery - Another book I read as a child, then later in life. I read it aloud to the munchkins last year & once again, I gained a lot better understanding the second time around.

10) The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett - a classic!
