Small Successes

FaithButton

Danielle Bean says, "It’s important for moms to recognize that all the small successes in our days can add up to one big triumph. So on Thursday of each week, we do exactly that."

1) Despite (or perhaps because of) all of us being sick over the past week w/strep throat, sinus, ear, & eye infections, I managed to clean the kitchen. I made up a new batch of beach cleaner, washed the counters, table, & stove w/ soap & water, then cleaned w/ the bleach spray. I also wiped down all the door handles around the house. An added bonus...it's mostly stayed clean since Sunday!

2) I got the most of the munchkins' school work ready for their first day of school (hopefully this coming Monday...we didn't make it this week due to illnesses).

3) Despite all the stress we've been under lately, I HAVE NOT taken it out on Casinodad. This is a biggie in my book, as he normally (& I'm NOT proud of this) gets the brunt of my frustrations.

Have you any successes to share? Check out Faith & Family Live every Thursday, when Danielle Bean hosts Small Successes.

I'm with you on #3; poor Kansas Dad gets all the angst from me. It doesn't do me much good to keep it from the kids if I pour it all out on him, though. Thanks for the inspiration to be more aware and fight the failing!

Great list! Isn't is silly how we always seem to take out our frustrations on the ones who are most likely helping the most. God Bless them for putting up with our imperfections!

Glad you're feeling better. Even though it's not the motivation you wanted, it's great to get things cleaned up.

Good for you not letting your frustration out on Dad. That is a tough one! I am so heartened to hear of many families this year who I wouldn't say are homeschooling through adversity but through difficult situations this fall be it a new baby or illness, etc. St Scholastica please interceded on behalf of all families starting this school year to help us approach it with hope and joy regardless of circumstance!

Great job on #3, that can be a struggle for me, too. Thanks for reminding me to watch it!

Great job this week! Love #3. I can totally relate. My guy gets both barrels sometimes when all he did was walk into the room. So glad he loves me enough to forgive me. Have a fabulous weekend!

Boy, those bugs seem to be attacking with a vengeance this year, hard way to start the new school year. Hope everyone gets better soon, and the school year goes well.

Yeorg... I had to give a "knowing nod" to #3. Congrats on that one (and all the others)!!
